Paracord isn’t just for survivalists and campers—it’s a rancher’s secret weapon for quick, sturdy, and downright handy solutions. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the basics of paracord crafting and make three useful, personalized items with equine applications: a survival bracelet, a bucket hanger, and a carabiner keychain. No prior skills needed—just a willingness to twist, knot, and laugh along the way.
When: When 10 people pre-register, we'll schedule!
Where: Bend/Redmond
Price: $65 (+ $20 for supplies)
Pre-register for the next session of this workshop. No charge! You will be charged once we get at least 10 pre-registrants and you agree to the date of the workshop. You'll be first in line and we'll work with you on the date.
Paracord is tough, versatile, and can save the day in countless ranch situations. You’ll learn why it’s a go-to material for ranchers, riders, and DIYers, and you’ll get to choose your own colors to personalize each project.
We’ll walk you through measuring, cutting, and knotting techniques—especially the ever-useful Cobra Knot. By the end of the session, you’ll take home a survival bracelet, bucket hanger, and carabiner keychain, plus printed instructions so you can keep crafting long after class ends.
Nothing makes you hungry like paracord projects! Bring a dish, and bond with your like-minded neighbors! We bring the main, you bring the rest! At School of Ranch, our product is education but our purpose is community building. We create common ground for people regardless of politics, age, background, or belief.
Judy Robinson is a lifelong rancher, rural educator, and hands-on problem solver with over 30 years of paracording experience. A former rodeo champion and working cowgirl on Eastern Oregon ranches, she now runs an 80-acre ranch outside Bend with her horse, goats, and puppy. Judy’s background includes movie set technical work and fire camp support, but her true passion is sharing practical, creative skills with her community.
This workshop is presented in collaboration with JParacord Braiding, Judy’s own brand of custom paracord products for dog and cat owners, rodeo contestants, shed hunters, and horse riders. You can check out her work at JParacord Braiding on Etsy.
