Your garden’s bounty deserves more than a rough chop—it deserves knife skills worthy of a chef’s nod. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the secrets to transforming carrots into perfect matchsticks, onions into tidy dice, and herbs into delicate ribbons. Along the way, you’ll get the lowdown on how to choose, care for, and sharpen your knives so they stay in tip-top shape. Whether you’re brand new to the kitchen or ready to level up, you’ll leave with new skills, a confidence boost, and a happy belly. Recipes included, potluck shared, bragging rights guaranteed.
When: We'll schedule when 10 people pre-register!
Where: Bend/Redmond
Price: $75 (+ $10 supplies)
Pre-register for the next session of this workshop. No charge! You will be charged once we get at least 10 pre-registrants and you agree to the date of the workshop. You'll be first in line and we'll work with you on the date.
Not all blades are created equal. You’ll discover the primary uses of several key kitchen knives and learn exactly when to reach for each one. From delicate herbs to stubborn squash, you’ll know which knife will get the job done efficiently and safely.
Your cutting board works hard for you—give it some TLC! You’ll learn care and sanitizing tips to keep your board in great condition, plus the little-known tricks that can extend its life by years.
We’ll break down cutting techniques for vegetables and herbs—julienne, dice, mince, and more—so you can prep your garden bounty like a pro. Hands-on practice means you’ll feel comfortable and confident replicating the moves at home.
We’ll demystify the world of knife sharpening. From honing rods to whetstones to handheld sharpeners, you’ll learn how to keep your knives razor-ready—without sending them away to a pro.
Nothing says community like a potluck. Breaking bread while building bridges, so to speak. This workshop will include a potluck, a chance to talk about what you are learning, share experiences, and get to know one another. We'll supply the main protein. Please bring something along to share with your neighbors!
