Legs, boots and a long handled tool gardening in the high desert.

You'll walk the grounds with Beth and explore real-life examples of ornamental, edible, and native plants that actually want to live in Central Oregon. Say goodbye to wilting roses and hello to plants that can take the heat (and the deer).

WORKSHOP LEADER

Beth Covert

Before leaving her artist career and moving from Ohio, Beth studied up on desert gardening. On arrival, she became the garden department manager at a local retailer.  When her suggestions to stock climate appropriate plants went nowhere, she started High&Dry GardenWorks, her own lab for propagating plants that can thrive with limited water, excessive sun and wind, and deer.  She has designed spaces on her property to grow food in this challenging climate and is eager to share her lessons.
