Feeding, health, breeding, and long-term commitment—get the basics on what it takes to keep your herd happy and healthy.
Using a custom AI planning tool, you’ll assess your readiness, map out key requirements (time, cost, infrastructure), and leave with a personalized goat-keeping plan in hand.
Carol Fox raises Nigerian Dwarf goats on her one-acre micro-farm in Redmond. A retired RN, she previously taught “Survival Gourmet” cooking classes at the Free School in Santa Cruz, CA. Nine years ago, she moved to Central Oregon to fulfill her goat-raising dreams—only to realize how much she didn’t know! Now, she’s eager to share her hard-earned wisdom with others who are goat-curious.
She also makes cheese, yogurt, and even the occasional goat milk ice cream, and she’s been known to convert even the staunchest goat cheese skeptics with her mild, creamy, “un-goaty” goat cheese.
This workshop is presented in partnership with Deschutes Public Library, where curiosity thrives. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty—you’ll be around live goats, hopefully!
