Smart Watering: Hands-On Drip Irrigation

 Get your hands dirty and your plants hydrated the efficient way! This interactive outdoor workshop will walk you through the what, why, and how of drip irrigation. Whether you’re tending a backyard patch or a multi-bed microfarm, you’ll come away with practical skills and tools to keep your plants happy without wasting a drop.

Dr. Flyoid Nicolas

Dr. Flyoid Nicolas is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Agricultural Water Management and Hydrology at Oregon State University, based at the Central Oregon Agricultural Research & Extension Center in Madras. With a deep background in engineering and sustainable water use, Dr. Nicolas focuses on making irrigation smarter and more efficient for farmers and gardeners. His research blends cutting-edge tools—like hydrological modeling, remote sensing, machine learning, and GIS—to tackle issues like salinity, nutrient leaching, and climate adaptation in agriculture.
