Whether you’re a brand-new driver or just tired of nodding politely at your mechanic while wondering what an “upper control arm bushing” is, this hands-on workshop is for you. You’ll get under the hood (literally), check your own fluids and tires, and walk away knowing what’s worth fixing, what’s an upsell, and how to handle roadside hiccups without panic.
We’ll work on real cars, in real time, so you can drive away with actual confidence—not just car talk.
When: We'll schedule when 10 people pre-register!
Where: Bend/Sisters
Price: $95
Pre-register for the next session of this workshop. No charge! You will be charged once we get at least 10 pre-registrants and you agree to the date of the workshop. You'll be first in line and we'll work with you on the date.
No more mystery fluids or cryptic dashboard lights. You’ll learn to safely inspect oil, coolant, tires, brakes, and batteries, plus get familiar with the sights, sounds, and smells that mean “fix me now” vs. “you’ve got time.”
Get the inside scoop on reading estimates, asking the right questions, and spotting unnecessary upsells. By the end, you’ll have the vocabulary and know-how to have real conversations in the repair shop.
From flat tires to fender benders, you’ll walk through exactly what to do, what to document, and how to keep yourself safe and calm while waiting for help.
Dan Jaynes is a seasoned DIY auto hobbyist with years of experience in auto paint, body repair, and all kinds of mechanical systems. Closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Feel free to bring a tire gauge, and make sure your owner’s manual is in your car if you drive it to the workshop.
This session would be great for teens learning to drive—and of course adults! Everyone must have their own ticket!
No potluck. Bring a water bottle and snacks, if needed.
We’ll learn how to diagnose and discuss these topics, but no full fluid changes or tire swaps will be performed.
